We are excited to announce the graduation of Doctor’s Medical Center in Miami, FL from WellCare’s Patient Care Advocacy Program! Patient Care Advocate, Dabona Mason, started working with DMC in April 2017 and within just a few months Dabona and DMC have been able to improve their Quality scores significantly. By allowing Dabona full access to their EMR and scheduling system, she was able to abstract medical records and schedule appointments to close gaps in care. DMC has been proactive with our feedback. The staff quickly started using new processes to ensure accurate coding for well-visits and added health reminders for gaps in care pop up in its EMR. DMC also made sure their members have proper scripts, which helped Dabona schedule lab appointments for lead screenings. This success only could be achieved through a strong partnership between WellCare and Doctor's Medical Center.
