WellCare is pleased to announce a partnership with ProgenyHealth, a company that specializes in Neonatal Care Coordination Services. ProgenyHealth’s collaborative program will enhance services to our members, and support our mission to make a lasting difference in our members’ lives by improving their health and well-being. WellCare will also be applying the level of care authorized via the ProgenyHealth Care Coordination process to the claims received by your institution. If the authorization does not match the claim, the claim will be processed at the authorized level of care
Under the agreement, that begins April 1, 2019, ProgenyHealth’s Neonatologists, Pediatricians, and Neonatal Nurse Care Managers will work closely with WellCare’s clinical team, attending physicians and nurses to promote healthy outcomes for WellCare premature and medically complex newborns.

Your process for notifying WellCare of infants admitted to a NICU or special care nursery will remain the same. WellCare will notify ProgenyHealth of admissions and their Neonatal Nurse Care Managers will work in close collaboration with the WellCare team and your designated onsite staff to provide ongoing telephonic care coordination services throughout the inpatient stay.
