NJ Rate Increase Effective July 1 2018

The New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services (“Department”) has increased the minimum hourly rate requirements that managed care organizations must pay to Home Health Agency Providers for personal care services to individuals.  The Department’s mandatory hourly rate change went into effect on July 1, 2018 (“Rate Effective Date”).

Pursuant to the terms of the Participating Provider Agreement between you and WellCare Health Plans of New Jersey, Inc. (as amended, the “Agreement”), the Department’s mandatory rate update was deemed automatically incorporated in the Agreement effective on the Rate Effective Date.  Specifically, as of that date, the following line item set forth in the New Jersey Medicaid/Family Care Rate Table in Attachment C of the Agreement was modified to read as follows:

Code Description Rate

T1019

Personal Care Services, Per 15 min (individual)

$4.03 per unit

(1 unit = 15 minutes)

Except as amended herein, all other terms of the Agreement remain unchanged and in full force and effect.  All capitalized terms used in this amendment but not defined herein shall have the meaning set forth in the Agreement.

Please retain a copy of this notice and amendment with your Agreement.  No further action is required by you.
