How will Transition of Care be handled for WellCare members moving to Fidelis Care?
Fidelis Care will honor all WellCare authorization approvals that include dates of service beyond May 31, 2020. Beginning on 5/18/20, providers can contact Fidelis by phone or fax for authorization if services will be rendered after 6/1. For requests involving dates of service 6/1/2020 and beyond, Fidelis Care will follow The Medicaid Model Contract requirements pertaining to transition of care: 90 days for Medicaid, Child Health Plus and Essential Plan members and 120 days for Managed Long Term Care members. Authorizations already processed by WellCare for any services after 6/1, will be moved to Fidelis and there is no need for the provider or member to request these services again.
